Phoenix Academy is based in Perth, Western Australia with campuses in West Perth and Perth Beach (Fremantle). Phoenix Academy is one of Australia’s largest English Language institutions, and the largest specialist centre in Perth (both in the public and private sector).
From its inception in 1989 Phoenix Academy has successfully managed the enrolment, admission, accommodation, orientation, training and on-going pastoral care for over 20,000 students, with an annual turnover exceeding $10 million. Clients are drawn from over 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America making Phoenix Academy one of Australia’s most ethnically diverse language centres.

Phoenix Academy was the winner of the West Australian Government’s 2002 and 2003 Education Exporter of the Year award.
Phoenix Academy specialises in a diverse range of education training and education services including; teaching intensive general and academic English (ELICOS) to over 2,000 international students every year, the provision of a pre-university/Foundation Studies program to over 300 international and Australian students each year, English support programs for university students, and English as a Second Language Teacher Training courses to Australian and foreign teachers. In addition Phoenix Academy offers corporate training programs both offshore and in Australia.
Phoenix Academy has three shareholders: Mr Brian Walsh (Managing Director of Phoenix Academy), Mrs Robynne Walsh (Principal of Phoenix Academy) and Mr Les Scannell. They are educators and are actively involved in the day to day running of the Academy.
Robynne and Brian are well respected within the education industry and also sit on a number of national and state educational peak body councils. (e.g. WAPETIA, Perth Education City, CCI International Trade Committee). Robynne Walsh was the recipient of the prestigious IDP Educator of the Year Award in 2002. Phoenix Academy and Robynne Walsh also won the Western Australian International Business Council Award for 2002.
Phoenix Academy (holding company Keyseq Pty Ltd) has invested in its future by owning the freehold to its two campuses. The city campus has a capacity for 400 students and is located in West Perth just 1.7 kms from the city centre. The southern Perth campus is located in the west end of Fremantle. Called the Perth Beach Campus, this campus co-shares a vibrant education precinct with University of Notre Dame and Challenger TAFE.
Phoenix Academy also owns and operates Beatty Lodge, a three star 120-bed accommodation complex next to the Perth campus which is open to the public. Phoenix Academy also owns the historic Orient Hotel in Fremantle’s west end.
